Information you provide
Our enquiry form asks for your name, email address and a brief description of your enquiry. A telephone number is optional. We also receive information you choose to share in subsequent correspondence.
Please provide only what we need to understand your initial request. Do not send identity documents, financial account details, medical information, detailed evidence or other sensitive material through the initial enquiry form. Contact us first to discuss an appropriate way to provide documents. Sending an enquiry does not by itself establish an attorney-client relationship or confirm that we have accepted an instruction.
Technical information
When you browse the website, our hosting and network services receive technical information needed to deliver pages and operate the service, such as an IP address, requested resources and browser information.
When you submit an enquiry, the website includes technical context with the message sent to our team: an IP address forwarded by the hosting service where available; browser, device and language information; time zone; screen and browser-window dimensions; submission time and time taken to complete the form; and the submission and referring page. Query strings and fragments are removed from those page addresses. Approximate location is included only if the configured hosting service supplies it; it is not precise GPS location and may be inaccurate.
We use this context to assess suspicious submissions, investigate delivery or compatibility problems and understand how an enquiry reached us. Automated checks limit repeated submissions and identify likely spam. They do not assess the legal merits of your enquiry or decide whether we will act for you. If a submission fails, you can email us directly.
Why we use information
We use enquiry information to respond, communicate with you and consider whether we can assist, including any necessary conflict checks. Where applicable, this is processing needed to take steps at your request before an engagement, or for our legitimate interests in handling correspondence and managing our practice.
Operating and protecting the website, preventing abuse and investigating technical problems serve our legitimate interests in maintaining a reliable service. Information may also be needed to meet applicable legal or professional obligations or establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Optional website analytics relies on your consent. These grounds apply only to the extent permitted by the law governing the particular processing; this notice does not make every jurisdiction's privacy law applicable to every visitor.
If you do not provide the required enquiry details, we may be unable to respond through the form. Providing a telephone number or allowing analytics is not a condition of contacting us.
Service providers and other recipients
Website enquiries are sent through Resend to the firm's email system. Our website infrastructure uses Railway for hosting and related storage, Cloudflare for domain-name services and, where enabled, web traffic services, and InMotion for the firm's email hosting. These providers process information associated with the services they supply. Google receives analytics information only when optional analytics is enabled and you allow it.
Information may be accessed by the firm's personnel and technical service providers as needed to handle your enquiry, maintain the service or support it. Disclosure may also be required by law, professional obligations or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims. An enquiry is not permission to publish your message or include its contents in our website analytics.
Providers may process information outside Curaçao, including in the United States or other countries where they or their subcontractors operate. Privacy protections can differ between countries. Where applicable law requires a transfer mechanism or other safeguards, those requirements must be met. Contact us for information about the arrangements relevant to your enquiry; this notice is not a representation that a particular certification or transfer mechanism applies to every provider.
Optional Google Analytics and browser storage
When optional analytics is available, “Analytics preferences” appears in the footer. Until you choose “Allow analytics”, our integration does not load the Google Analytics script or send analytics events to Google. If these preferences are not offered, optional analytics is not active through this integration. You can decline without affecting the website or enquiry form.
With your permission, the integration measures public page views, clicks on contact options and accepted enquiry submissions. A submission event records that the email provider accepted the message, not its contents or confirmation that it reached an inbox. Our custom events exclude names, email addresses, telephone numbers and enquiry text. Page addresses exclude query strings and fragments, and referral information is limited to the referring website's origin.
Google still receives technical network and browser information when its script runs. Analytics is not anonymous merely because we exclude enquiry details. Our website integration disables Google signals and advertising-personalisation flags and keeps advertising consent denied. See how Google uses information from sites using its services and Google's privacy policy.
Your choice is stored in this browser for up to 180 days using local storage. If allowed, our integration configures analytics cookies with names beginning with zl_ga, a lifetime of up to 60 days and no automatic extension on each visit. Browser settings may shorten these periods. These browser-storage periods are separate from retention of information in Google's systems.
You can withdraw consent through “Analytics preferences” in the footer. Withdrawal stops future collection by this integration in that browser and clears its accessible analytics cookies; it does not automatically delete information already received by Google or affect earlier lawful processing. You may need to set preferences separately on different browsers or devices. A supported Global Privacy Control signal keeps this integration off. If your browser cannot save your choice, analytics remains off.
How long information is kept
Retention depends on the purpose and the record involved. For initial enquiries, relevant factors include whether correspondence is ongoing, whether we are asked to act, and whether information is needed for conflict checks, a complaint, a legal claim or an applicable professional or legal obligation. Where an enquiry becomes a client matter, the relevant client-file requirements also apply.
Technical and delivery records depend on the operational purpose and the provider's retention arrangements. Backup copies may remain until the applicable backup cycle expires. Browser-storage limits are described above; they do not set a deletion deadline for enquiry emails, backups or provider-held records. Contact us to ask about retention or request deletion of information associated with your enquiry, subject to applicable obligations and exceptions.
Your privacy rights
Depending on the applicable law and circumstances, you may request access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion, restriction of use, or a portable copy, and may object to processing. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it. These rights are subject to applicable conditions, including professional confidentiality, the rights of others and requirements to retain information.
Send requests to info@zlattorneys.com. Tell us what you are requesting and provide enough information to locate the relevant correspondence. We may need proportionate identity verification before disclosing or changing information. Please do not send identity documents unless we ask and explain an appropriate way to provide them. We will handle your request within the period required by the applicable law and explain any relevant limitation.
You may also raise a concern with the competent data-protection authority. In Curaçao, this is the College bescherming persoonsgegevens Curaçao. Where the GDPR applies, you may complain to the relevant supervisory authority, including in the EU/EEA country of your habitual residence, place of work or the alleged infringement.
External services and updates
Links to WhatsApp, Google Maps and other external websites take you to services with their own privacy terms. Information you provide there is handled under those services' arrangements as well as any applicable obligations of the firm when we receive it.
We may update this notice as the website or our processing changes. The date above identifies the latest version. For questions about this notice or your information, contact info@zlattorneys.com.
